Today is Constitution Day. On September 17, 1787 delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia signed the United States Constitution. The Preamble to the U.S. Constitution sets the stage.
"We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
If you have not read the Constitution recently I would encourage you to do so. You will be reminded of the wisdom of our Founding Fathers who hand drafted a document (which included a few British spellings) that is as relevant and harmonious today as it was in 1787.
